建築物除了提供人的遮風避雨，更是人一生中無法離開的必要場所。人生的每一階段對建築物的需求有所不同：出生需要醫院，求學需要學校，就業需要工廠和辦公室，居住生活需要住宅，到了生命的終點還需要殯儀館和納骨塔。科技發展也是為了服務人的需求，將科技研發成果運用於建築物中，提升建築物的使用效能，乃本中心成立之宗旨。
因應地球環境變遷與能源使用，風能和太陽能被運用在建築物中，以降低地球暖化之衝擊，淨零碳排成為顯學。為更符合居住之需求，智慧建築更是必要。如何在建築物生命週期中發揮其功能，有賴各項科技運用之整合。本中心透過各項研發成果整合運用，以達成中心成立之宗旨。
此外，本中心致力於推動綠色建築技術，強調資源的有效利用和環境的可持續性。我們的研究涵蓋了從材料選擇到建築設計的各個方面，確保每一個建築項目都能最大限度地減少對環境的影響。同時，我們也積極探索新興技術，如物聯網（IoT）和人工智慧（AI），以提升建築物的智能化水平，提供更舒適、安全和高效的居住環境。我們相信，通過不斷的創新和努力，本中心將在未來的建築領域中發揮更大的作用，為人們創造更美好的生活空間。
Buildings
not only provide shelter from the elements but are also indispensable spaces
throughout a person’s life. At each stage of life, the need for buildings
varies: hospitals are essential at birth, schools during education, factories
and offices for employment, residences for living, and funeral homes and
columbariums at the end of life. The advancement of technology aims to serve
human needs by applying technological innovations to buildings, thereby
enhancing their functionality and performance. This is the founding mission of
our center.
In
response to global environmental changes and energy usage challenges, wind and
solar energy have been incorporated into buildings to mitigate the impacts of
global warming. Achieving net-zero carbon emissions has become a prominent
goal. To better meet the needs of modern living, smart buildings have become a
necessity. Maximizing a building’s functionality throughout its lifecycle
relies on the integration of various technologies. Our center strives to
achieve its mission by integrating and applying the results of diverse research
and development efforts.
Additionally,
our center is dedicated to advancing green building technologies, emphasizing
the efficient use of resources and environmental sustainability. Our research
spans all aspects of building projects, from material selection to
architectural design, ensuring that every project minimizes its environmental
impact to the greatest extent possible. At the same time, we actively explore
emerging technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial
Intelligence (AI), to enhance building intelligence, providing more
comfortable, safe, and efficient living environments. We believe that through
continuous innovation and effort, our center will play an even greater role in
the future of the architectural field, creating better living spaces for
people.
