近年隨著科技發展，資訊技術逐漸導入營建相關產業，利用建築資訊模型（Building Information Modeling, BIM）技術為基礎，於虛擬空間中進行規劃、模擬與方案評估，降低工程專案的執行風險並提升品質與生產力，已成為營建產業發展趨勢。 因此，本中心成立目的在於透過學界研究與開發能力，持續研究BIM、數位孿生、虛擬實境、物聯網、點雲及人工智慧等相關技術，協助建築、營造及工程領域之創新科技應用 中心亦承接各政府部門或實務單位對於營建資訊相關研究及合作計畫，同時執行人才培育、學術交流與研討活動，以促進產、官、學界合作，提升營建產業資訊應用能力。

In recent years, with the rapid
advancement of technology, information technologies have gradually been
introduced into the construction-related industries. Based on Building
Information Modeling (BIM), planning, simulation, and scenario evaluation can be
conducted within virtual environments, thereby reducing project execution risks
and enhancing quality and productivity. This has become a major development
trend within the construction industry.
Accordingly, the purpose of establishing
this Center is to leverage academic research and development capabilities to
continuously study and advance BIM, digital twins, virtual reality, the
Internet of Things (IoT), point cloud technologies, and artificial
intelligence. These efforts aim to support innovative technological
applications across the fields of architecture, construction, and engineering.
The Center also undertakes research and collaborative projects commissioned by
government agencies and industry partners, while carrying out talent
cultivation programs, academic exchange activities, and professional seminars
to promote cooperation among industry, government, and academia, and to enhance
the construction industry’s capacity for information-based applications.
